After the fertilized egg successfully implants, the trophoblastic cells of the placenta secrete a specific hormone, human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG).

hCG rapidly enters the mother's blood and urine, and levels gradually increase as pregnancy progresses.

Detection Mechanism (Colloidal Gold Method)

Test strips or kits typically use colloidal gold immunochromatography technology:

Sample Addition: Urine is added to the test area, where it flows through the filter membrane by capillary action.

Antigen-Antibody Reaction: If hCG is present in the sample, it binds to the colloidal gold-labeled anti-hCG monoclonal antibody on the test strip, forming a complex.

Color Development: This complex continues to migrate, reaching the test line (T line) where it binds to another immobilized anti-hCG antibody, forming a colored line.

Control line (C line): Regardless of whether the sample contains hCG, a colored control line will appear at the C line position to verify whether the test is valid.

PREGNANT
Two distinct colored lines will appear. One line should be in the control line region (C) and the other in the test line region (T). One line may appear lighter than the other; they do not need to match. This indicates that you are likely pregnant.

NOT PREGNANT
A single colored line will appear in the control line region (C), with no line in the test line region (T). This suggests that you are likely not pregnant.

INVALID
The result is invalid if no colored line appears in the control line region (C), even if a line appears in the test line region (T). In this case, please repeat the test using a new test kit.
